At the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum last week in Geneva, 18 prize-winning projects received global accolades for their work using information and communication technologies (ICTs) to improve lives, impact the environment, reduce inequalities and many more.
With 1.1 million votes cast to select 18 prize winners and recognize 90 champions, the WSIS Prizes winners represent some of the most innovative and high-impact projects from around the world that prove ICTs are key to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Vladimir Stankovic, WSIS Policy Analyst, and global coordinator of the WSIS Prizes sat down with ITU News to discuss these amazing projects awarded at the WSIS Forum.
