KT set to showcase cutting-edge 5G service for the 2018 Olympics (VIDEO)

By ITU News

Korean operator KT is looking forward to showcasing some of the world’s leading 5G network services next year at the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang — and participants at ITU Telecom World this week were given a sneak preview at the Korea Pavilion.

On hand to describe KT’s plans to make 5G a driver of the ‘4th Industrial Revolution’ in Korea, Jiyoung Lee, Senior Public Relations Manager of KT said that KT was the first in the world to roll out nationwide 1-gigabyte-per-second service 2014.

So global leadership in 5G is a natural evolution for KT, she suggested.

“KT made it a goal to complete the intelligent network … so that it will be the pipeline of the 4th industrial revolution.”

KT focuses on 5 platforms, said Ms. Lee.

Those include: media, smart energy, company and public value enhancement, commerce and disaster and security.
