AI for Good Global Summit: AI’s impacts on standardization (VIDEO)
At the AI for Global Good Summit at ITU headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, Reinhard Scholl, Deputy Director of ITU’s standardization arm, discussed the main theme of the summit – how AI can help achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“All the AI experts are saying that AI is too important to be left to the AI experts so it needs to be discussed by countries, by companies, by organizations and by every citizen…” — Reinhard Scholl
As he explained, with regard to the standardization sector of ITU, AI will have a huge impact on the end-to-end performance of communication networks, which are getting ever more complex, as well as the processing and managing of data and the upcoming quantitative and qualitative changes to data.
A main goal of the Summit is to have a global dialogue on how AI can be used to achieve the SDGs and to bring every stakeholder together on a global scale.
